ConQuest encourages undergraduate and graduate students from the natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities, and law to engage with the Indian Constitution, law, politics, history and current affairs in a fun yet rigorous way. Since it’s inception in 2016, ConQuest has become the largest quiz and educational activity celebrating India’s constitutional history and politics. More than 12000 students have engaged with the past editions of ConQuest.

Addressing the Gender Gap in the Higher Judiciary in India

CLPR has launched a research and advocacy initiative aiming to address the glaring gender gap in the higher judiciary and to secure equal and inclusive representation of women.

CLPR in partnership with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany has developed the Equality Now! book series comprising four resource books, each focusing on a critical area of social justice: disability rights, caste discrimination, transgender rights, and women’s rights. The books aim to make rights-based jurisprudence accessible to marginalised communities, legal practitioners, and activists, bridging the gap between legal theory and practice.

A ground-breaking multi-disciplinary research collaboration, PACT will create an advanced digital platform on the making of the Indian constitution (1950), one of the most influential in the global South.

The Constitution Defenders Project by CLPR works to advance access to justice for transgender persons, women and girls, persons with disabilities, and Dalit and Adivasi communities. Through paralegal training and a 2.5-year fellowship for young lawyers, the project builds community capacity to navigate the legal system, access welfare schemes, and claim constitutional rights effectively.

CLPR concentrates on strengthening its work on transgender rights and contribute to the development of trans equality in India through three initiatives namely the Trans Law Cell, the Global Trans Law Database, and Know Your Rights and Entitlement Session (KYRE) and Roundtable Conference on Transgender Issues.

The Centre for Law and Policy Research (CLPR) in collaboration with its partnered Indian and American universities organised a series of workshops on U.S.- India Comparative Constitutional law in October, November 2021 and January 2022. The partnered Indian and American law universities were paired for an interactive session.
