As part of CLPR’s Equal Justice initiative, we are hosting a National Stakeholder Consultation titled, “Equal Justice: Securing Equal Inclusion of Women in the Higher Judiciary” to address systemic gender discrimination in the higher judiciary and the low representation of women judges in the High Courts and Supreme Court of India. This 1.5-day National Stakeholder Consultation will gather retired judges, lawyers, academics, researchers, civil society representatives, and journalists to identify avenues for institutional reform for gender inclusion within the judiciary. The panels are designed to collect substantive insights on the existing challenges to gender inclusion efforts, build consensus for transformative change within the institution, and strategise effective approaches for success.
