Last week at CLPR, we designed and conducted numerous activities to celebrate India’s Republic Day.
CLPR:
We celebrated Republic Day at Mallya Aditi International School, engaging students from the 1st to the 12th grades in debates, quizzes and puzzle on the Indian Constitution.
CADIndia:
In the week leading up to Republic day, CLPR conducted 7 workshops at 5 institutions in Mumbai in the Constituent Assembly Debates.
On the eve of Republic Day the CADIndia team published an article on the evolution of the idea of declaring India a Republic.
On Republic Day we traced the journey of the inclusion of the term “Republic” in the Indian Constitution.

23.01.2019: The 7th day of arguments were heard in the Hadiya marriage case. Hadiya was made a party to the case and can now file her own response.
23.01.2018: The 5 judge bench heard the 3rd day of arguments in the Aadhaar Act case. Mr. Shyam Divan continued and centered his on the Fundamental Right to Privacy and the enabling the setup of a Surveillance State.
24.01.2018: On the 4th day of arguments in the Aadhaar Act Mr. Shyam Divan argued that the Aadhaar Act did not meet the tests of Article 14 (Right to Equality) and Article 24 (Right to Life).
