New OxHRH RightsUp Podcast! Discrimination Law (Part 3)

April 8, 2024

In the final part of the Discrimination Law podcast series, the discussants have a conversation about affirmative action policies, strategic litigation, and moving beyond a complaints-based model of discrimination law. They discuss perspectives on affirmative action in India, Canada, and the UK, as well as the role of public interest litigation in promoting social reform in India.

Jayna Kothari, Executive Director at CLPR, speaks on how reservation policies have played an important role in achieving equality in India, especially for scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, and more recently for people with disabilities. She further reflects on the role of strategic litigation and public interest litigation in India in promoting social reform.
