Disha Chaudhari

Disha comes with 7 years of research experience on issues of law and marginalisation, particularly looking at the intersection of gender, sexuality, caste and disability in interrogating structural and systemic discrimination in the Indian context. She graduated with a B.A in Political Science from Lady Sriram College before pursuing law at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.

She has previously worked with CLPR in the capacity of a research and litigation associate from 2017-2019 during which time she also assisted Sr. Advocate Jayna Kothari on Constitutional cases pertaining to the sexual and reproductive rights of adolescents, the decriminalisation of homosexuality, the right to privacy of transgender and gender-diverse persons, among other cases.

Disha graduated with an L.L.M from Harvard Law School in 2020 after which she joined the Centre for Justice Law & Society at Jindal Global Law School. At CJLS, Disha was the Assistant Director and also a teaching fellow from 2021-2023 and a Clinical Assistant Professor (2023-2024) with the Law & Marginalisation Clinic where she assisted with and co-taught courses on Trans Justice & the Law & Reproductive Justice.

Disha is interested in research and writing on gender and sexuality, postcolonial feminism, transgender rights,  reproductive justice, queer feminist theory, critical legal theory, law and political economy and constitutional law.
