CLPR Occasional Talks #1 | Dr. Sudhir Krishnaswamy, Prof. James Mayall on Elected Representatives v/s Eminent Representatives from the Civil Society

Centre for Law and Policy Research jointly with the Bangalore International Centre and the Oxford and Cambridge Society for Bangalore, India organised a talk on “Elected Representative v/s Eminent Representatives in the Civil Society”. CLPR’s Dr. Sudhir Krishnaswamy and Cambridge University’s Prof. James Mayall spoke on the impact that civil society groups have on the law making process especially in the light of the current ‘Anna Movement’ for the enactment of the Jan Lokpal Bill.

 

The talk addressed various issues such as the authority of the civil society groups in representing the opinion of the public and the impact of technology in aggregating knowledge and people.
