The west regional round of ConQuest 2017 was held in the campus of our regional Partner Symbiosis Law School, Pune. 56 teams from Pune, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa took part in the written preliminary round. BITS Pilani Goa, GLC Mumbai, RTMNU, Wadia College, AGC Pune, IIT Bombay, BMCC, Singhad Institute of Management, COEP Pune, AFMC Pune, Symbiosis Institute of Management, PICT Pune participated in the quiz.
Law school teams from BVDU New Law College, GNLU, Symbiosis Law School Pune, V.M. Salgaoncar College of Law,Singhad Law College, Siddhart College of Law and school teams from Army Public School Pune, BMCC, DPS took part.
The eight teams that made it to the regional final round were: mixed team from GLC Mumbai, all girls school team from BMCC (won the best high school team prize), two teams from SLS Pune, GNLU, PICT, AFMC, COEP.
Anand Kumar and Nirmal Mathew from GNLU (who were last but second on the scores) monopolized the last buzzer round by answering all the 8 questions rightly and emerged as winners. Karan Kamath and Amey Pilay from SLS Pune (defending champions of last year’s regional finals) finished second. PICT and AFMC ended up tied for the third place with Ankit Choudhury and Anurag Choudhury of PICTbreaking the tie and securing the third place.
The Chief Guest and the Guest Quizmaster was Justice Smt. Revati Mohite Dere of the Bombay High Court who also conducted a round of the quiz. Raghav Chakravarthy and Sarthak Khuntia from Walnut Knowledge Solutions conducted the quiz.
