The Centre for Law and Policy Research (CLPR) is a not-for-profit trust dedicated to making the Constitution work for everyone through law and policy research, social and governance interventions, and strategic impact litigation. A. About the Position and Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Office Assistant to support the daily operations of our office. The ideal candidate will have experience in office management, basic financial tasks, and excellent organizational skills. This position involves a range of administrative and clerical duties to ensure the efficient functioning of our office. The Office Assistant will report to the Head of Administration.
This is a full-time position based in Bangalore.
B. Scope of Work:
- Office Organization: Keep the office area tidy and well-organized, including arranging workstations, meeting rooms, and common areas.
- Filing and Document Management: Maintain and organize physical and digital files, ensuring easy retrieval and secure storage of documents.
- Managing Office Supplies: Monitor and replenish office supplies, including stationery, kitchen supplies, and equipment. Manage vendor relationships and order supplies as needed.
- Basic Financial Tasks: Assist with basic financial duties such as processing invoices, expense reports, and petty cash management.
- Reception Duties: Greet visitors, answer and direct phone calls, and handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule and organize meetings, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and arranging catering if required.
- Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the team, including data entry, printing, photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
- Travel Arrangements: Assist in booking travel accommodations and itineraries for team members as needed.
- Event Planning: Help plan and organize office events, celebrations, and team activities.
- Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the department head.
C. Required Qualifications:
- Essential – Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. Additional qualifications in office administration or a related field are a plus.
- Proven experience as an office assistant, administrative assistant, or in a similar role.
- Basic understanding of office management and financial principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with office equipment (e.g., printers, fax machines).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in English and Kannada.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Professional and friendly demeanor.
D. Remuneration:
Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
