Asif Iqbal
Asif completed the integrated five-year law programme at the Centre for Juridical Studies, Dibrugarh University, and also pursued a Master’s degree with specialisation in Law and Development at Azim Premji University.
He has worked as a researcher for elected representatives in the Assam Legislative Assembly. During this, he assisted in drafting a Private Member’s Bill on gig workers and maintenance of cleanliness in Assam. He also assisted in preparing submissions before the one-man inquiry commission concerning the Umrangso Mines Tragedy involving illegal rat-hole mining.
Drawing from his experience working with elected representatives, Asif’s research interests lie at the intersection of electoral processes, labour law, and climate change.
