On June 28th, the Centre for Law and Policy Research hosted a roundtable titled ‘Pathways for Women from the Corporate Bar to the Higher Judiciary’ at the ITC Windsor, Bengaluru, engaging with women lawyers practising in corporate law firms. Over 15 lawyers, with years of experience in disputes or who started their careers in disputes practice across India, participated in the session both in person and online. Through a focused discussion, the participants addressed forms of gender-based discrimination they face daily in the corporate world, barriers to attaining leadership positions, the challenges of transitioning from the corporate bar to the judiciary, as well as ways to address and overcome these barriers.
